The NTT IndyCar Series makes the first of its two Wisconsin stops June 20-22 at Road America just outside Elkhart Lake with the XPEL Grand Prix.

The series has raced 10 times over the past nine seasons at the 4.014-mile track, and 2025 will mark the 36th race for Indy-style cars at Road America, including the old CART and Champ Car series, since 1982.

The race is scheduled for 12:30 local time with television coverage on Fox (Channel 6 in Milwaukee).

Here are some names to look for at the top of the timing sheets and results.

The three-time champion and series points leader won at Road America in 2021 and ’23 and in both of those seasons went on to win the series championship. While Palou’s victories have come with Chip Ganassi Racing, a powerhouse Honda team, he also scored impressive finishes of third and seventh for Dale Coyne Racing in the 2020 doubleheader before he hit the big time. He has won five of the eight races so far in 2025.

Josef Newgarden

The two-time IndyCar champion (2017, 2019) and two-time Indianapolis 500 winner (2023, 2024) has won twice at Road America (2018, 2022), had a third victory slip away due to a parts failure and was second in 2017, ’23 and ‘24. His Penske team finished 1-2-3 last year but has been embroiled in cheating scandals and has yet to win this season.

Pato O'Ward

The face of the series is still looking for his first Road America victory but has been on the podium twice (second in 2020, third in ’23). Although winless in 2025 he comes into the weekend second in the standings.

Kyle Kirkwood

Suddenly the hottest driver in IndyCar – as Palou was for much of the first half of the season – Kirkwod has won the past two races and already has a career-high three victories in 2025. He’s also the only driver not named Alex Palou to win in 2025. Although natural terrain road courses are the types of track that has least suited Andretti Global Hondas in recent years, Kirkwood has won two street course races in 2025 and comes in fresh off his first oval victory June 15 at World Wide Technology Raceway.
