Alex Palou advanced his journey toward historical significance and immortality by securing victory at the Sonsio Grand Prix on Saturday on the road course of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, marking his fourth win in five NTT INDYCAR SERIES races this season.

This marked the Spaniard's third straight win in this race, setting an event record, and he became the first driver since Sebastien Bourdais in 2006 to secure victory in four of the first five races of an INDYCAR SERIES season.

NTT P1 Award winner Palou secured a victory in his No. 10 DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, finishing 5.4840 seconds ahead of Pato O’Ward's No. 5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet. This lead could have been significantly greater if not for a late caution period—the first since Lap 1 of the season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by RP Funding—which regrouped the field before Palou pulled ahead once more.

Will Power, a two-time series champion, achieved his best finish of the season by securing third place in the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet, trailing Palou by 8.4529 seconds. His teammate, Scott McLaughlin, took fourth place in the No. 3 Sonsio Vehicle Protection Chevrolet.

Six-time series champion Scott Dixon completed the top five in the No. 9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda.

Palou's future goals are becoming clearer following this victory. His next target is to win the upcoming event, the most significant of all, the 109th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge on Sunday, May 25 at IMS. Palou has yet to win the "500" or on an oval, which are among the few challenges he has yet to conquer in this series.
