Brenden Queen, driving a Chevy, completed 105 laps around the track swiftly, recording the fastest time. This marked the driver's first professional career victory.
Brenden “Butterbean” Queen demonstrated on Friday night that he's more than just a side attraction. The mullet-sporting regional short-track star from Chesapeake, Va., is the main feature of the ARCA Menards Series in 2025. He secured his second victory of the season in the Tide 150 and achieved his first career win at Kansas Speedway.
Queen's No. 28 Chevrolet successfully fended off William Sawalich's aggressively pursuing Toyota during the final restart to secure the victory. He kicked off the season with a triumph at Daytona International Speedway and led at Phoenix Raceway until Brent Crews overtook him on the last turn.
"I honestly don't know what it takes to succeed at all these different tracks," said Queen, the 2024 CARS Late Model Tour champion. "My background is in racing through backyard cornfields, so the big stage is unfamiliar to me. Tonight is a significant moment for my future because now I understand what it takes to win when the sun sets. It's similar to my days in late-model racing; once I figured it out, I managed to win some races."
Mason Mitchell from Iowa secured third place, with pole-winner Lawless Alan and Lavar Scott, who started the evening leading the ARCA Menards Series, finishing behind him.
