On Tuesday, NASCAR officials revealed that Homestead-Miami Speedway will once again host the season finales for all three national series in 2026, as schedule planners move toward implementing a rotation model for Championship Weekend.
The 1.5-mile track in South Florida, which hosted the season finales for the Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Craftsman Truck Series from 2002 to 2019, is set to feature a tripleheader weekend on November 6-8 next season. Competition officials mentioned that the remainder of the 2026 NASCAR schedule will be announced later this summer.
The announcement indicates that Championship Weekend will move from Phoenix Raceway, which has hosted the season finales for those three series annually since 2020 and will again host these events from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.
"This has been anticipated for some time," stated Ben Kennedy, NASCAR Executive Vice President and Chief Venue & Racing Innovation Officer. "The last time we held the championship race at Homestead was in 2019. We've relocated it to Phoenix for the past few years, which has been fantastic for us. Phoenix is an incredible market where we've witnessed excellent racing and crowned some of our greatest champions. However, we're thrilled to return to Homestead-Miami Speedway. From conversations I've had with various industry partners, they are thrilled about this change. Additionally, it's the top championship venue requested by our fans. We're excited to finally share this news."
Homestead-Miami is marking its 30th season this year. The venue first hosted the NASCAR championship in 2002, when Tony Stewart claimed his first Cup Series title. Stewart secured all three of his Cup championships there, including his memorable 2011 victory, which he won in a tiebreaker against fellow Hall of Famer Carl Edwards. Homestead also witnessed Jimmie Johnson's record-tying seven Cup Series championships, as well as the first premier-series titles for Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr., Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, and others.
