Corey Heim secured victory in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Darlington Raceway on Friday night, triumphing in double overtime in a dramatic conclusion.
The reigning Truck Series champion leveraged newer tires in an exhilarating green-white-checkered finish at the track known as “Too Tough to Tame.” He surged past Cup Series veteran Ross Chastain in Turns 3 and 4 on the final lap to clinch the win, earning a $50,000 bonus as part of the Triple Truck Challenge.
Heim achieved his 24th career NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series victory thrillingly on Friday night at Darlington. The defending series champion began the double-overtime restart from the ninth position.
With fresher tires than most of the competitors ahead, Heim maneuvered his No. 5 truck into third place as leader Ross Chastain received the white flag.
From that point, the 23-year-old overtook Christian Eckes for the second position and set his sights on Chastain’s No. 45 truck.

In the final laps, Heim maneuvered beneath Chastain entering turn three. Positioned on the outside line, Chastain was unable to defend against Heim due to his older tires.
Heim successfully overtook Chastain as they exited turn four, crossing the finish line first in the Buckle Up South Carolina 200 at Darlington Raceway. This marked Heim’s 24th career Truck Series victory in his 91st start and his second win at Darlington Raceway.
Heim experienced the intensity of the race's conclusion as he celebrated his 24th career win.
